HISTORY
In December of 1797, just six years after the 1st Amendment to the U. S. Constitution was ratified, thirty six men formed a "Baptist society of Killingworth" (now Clinton).
The first "meeting house", completed in 1838, stood
faithfully until 1980 when a new auditorium was constructed.
In the Bible, the church is God's redeemed people. Over two centuries, many people have heard the message of salvation through faith in Christ alone, and many, by their faithfulness, have kept the faith intact from generation to generation.
The message has not changed and we remain an Independent Baptist Church.
Our purpose is the worship of God, fellowship, observance of Christ's ordinances, the edification of believer's through consistent verse by verse exposition of God's Word, the evangelization of the lost, and the world-wide proclamation of the gospel.
Our mission is to be witnesses to our Lord Jesus Christ both in our area and beyond, to see people saved, baptized, growing in the Lord and serving Him.
VISION

Our goal is to teach the Bible to every member of your family. Through clear teachings of the Bible, we believe that every member can become healthy, productive members of society.
The Bible is the sure foundation whose principles of right and truth never change. The Bible provides an anchor for the soul that will support us through all the storms of life. Every Sunday the truths of the Bible are taught to all ages throughout our Sunday School and Church services.
It is our hope and prayer that you and your family might know the joy of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God's Son, and the blessing of worshiping together. We want to give you the personal and family values that you will need in our ever-changing world.
